Under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Area Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory control and processes of finished, unfinished goods and raw material. Effective & timely communication with supply chain, customers and the warehouse team are critical to success. This position is accountable to maintain/improve safety, cost, schedule, and performance metrics. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for continuous improvement, utilizing transformation tools, standard work & visual performance measures for inventory control & processes. A highly organized and detailed oriented, self-motivated problem solver with a high sense of urgency is required for this position for a 300+ union facility in Chilton, WI.

Responsibilities:

  • Protect the accuracy, integrity, and salability of inventory, through the adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations
  • Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards
  • With Operations support execute daily cycle counts
  • Participate in Lean Transformation efforts, including 6S initiatives and activities
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and Our Golden Rule, and in accordance to legal, ethical, and contractual practices

Experience:

  • 1+ years of previous inventory experience in an inventory management position
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with operational equipment, including counter-balance forklifts, RF scanners, and scales
  • J.D. Edwards Preferred
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
