About the role
The Waste Processing Technician I will perform various labor duties including receiving, processing, mixing, and loading non hazardous waste materials and maintaining equipment. Duties will include
Process inbound material for treatment facility
Unloads bulk trucks into mix pit and shredders
Scan drums using hand held scanner
Compact and load out empty drums
Operates processing equipment such as shredders, drum line, tote dumper, tow motor
Receive shipments and unload trucks
Housekeeping: Maintain a neat and clean working environment
May begin to train on how to use heavy equipment i.e. Backhoe, Trackhoe, loader in process area
Coordinate last minute or unscheduled deliveries
Comply with OSHA Health and Safety Rules
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
1+ year of experience
Able to pass respirator fit test
Must exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate attention to detail and time management
Must be able to operate cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and other power tools
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time
Walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
