Machine Operator

Job Description
Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $18.00/HR + BOE
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00 am - 03:30 pm

Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Review Order Jackets at the beginning of each shift or new job with their crew and supervisor, resolving any unanswered questions before starting the job.
- Set up assigned jobs, including but not limited to:
* Checking the sharpness of male and female knives before starting the set-up process.
* Properly setting all male and female knives.
* Adjusting pulleys and Mount Hope rolls.
* Setting up shafts and aligning cores.
* Configuring proper drum speed settings.
* Troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Ensure product quality by meeting customer specifications and operating the machine at optimum speed, barring any unforeseen complications.
- Maintain a neat and clean machine area at all times, ensuring food safety and product quality by thoroughly cleaning the machine area at the end of each shift.
- Implement and use safety devices at all times, following all safety guidelines.
- Report any suspicious activity or circumstances related to food security to the shift supervisor as it occurs.
- Adhere to internal operating procedures, GMPs, FDA regulations, customer requirements, and SQF standards to ensure food safety and quality.
- Communicate safety and quality issues with the shift supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain good communication with management and other team members.
- Accurately document Order Jacket details and identify and document all product with the proper markings at the conclusion of a job before starting the next job.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements for Machine Operator:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
