Description
TheCytotechnologist-ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGYreflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Cytotechnologist examines cells of the cytoplasm and nucleus to determine pathological conditions. Separates sediment and cells from blood serum and categorizes slides and records classification. Being a Cytotechnologist receives and prepares specimens for analysis. Detects abnormalities and communicates to pathologist to arrive at a final diagnosis and report.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in either Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biology. Must be eligible for Board of Certification as a Cytotechnologist by American Society of Clinical Pathologists standards within 6 months of hire.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year Laboratory experience preferred.
